For the third year in a row, R.L. Deppmann employees participated in Xylem Watermark’s Walk for Water Challenge. Xylem reached out to our company, stating the following:
We’re reaching out to you because you played a vital role in our Watermark Walk For Water Team Challenge last summer. Your participation was an integral part of the event’s success, and we wanted to extend an invitation to you for our fourth annual Walk for Water Team Challenge, happening this summer.
This year, we’re collaborating with our Xylem Channel Partners, Xylem employees, friends, and family to raise funds for schools in the United States that lack access to clean, safe drinking water. The challenge runs from June 1st to June 30th, 2024, and we can’t wait to have you on board!
The proceeds from this challenge will benefit the Chris Long Foundation, Waterboys, a charitable organization dedicated to bringing clean water to one million people globally. With the money raised, we’ll be supporting the installation of water bottle filtration systems in multiple schools so that they no longer have to buy bottled water.
R.L. Deppmann Employee Participation in the Challenge
R.L. Deppmann employees participated in the challenge virtually through an app named Pacer for Teams. Teams of 10 virtually “walked across the world” by tracking steps on a fitness tracker, phone, or by manually entering them into the app. Besides raising awareness and funds for the foundation, this challenge also shows that big objectives can be met relatively easily when approached as a team.
By the end of the challenge, the RL Deppmann team all together totaled 183,649,759 steps! This is about the equivalent of walking from New York, NY to Los Angeles, CA and back nearly 16 times!
We are grateful for this annual opportunity that allows for a team building experience while donating toward a great cause.
