Filter Build Event - March 2025
- R.L. Deppmann will partner with Xylem Watermark and the Wine-to-Water Foundation to assemble water filters for families globally who battle daily with contaminated drinking water.
Walk for Water Challenge - June 2025
- In partnership with Xylem Watermark, this virtual fundraising event and team challenge benefits the Chris Long Foundation, Waterboys. Teams of Deppmann employees will track their steps for the month of June to virtually “walk across the world,” raising awareness for the foundation. To participate, RLD will donate $25 per employee, which the Watermark Initiative matches for the cause.
K-12 Backpack Kit Assembly - July 2025
- To make the back-to-school season a little easier for families in need within our communities, we will assemble backpack kits filled with school supplies. This event supports students from one of our strongest community partners, K-12 schools.

- Xylem Watermark Walk for Water Challenge — June 2024
In partnership with Xylem Watermark, R.L. Deppmann employees participated in a virtual fundraising event to benefit the Chris Long Foundation, Waterboys. Waterboys is a charitable organization dedicated to bringing clean water to one million people globally. As part of the challenge, three teams of 10 Deppmann employees tracked their steps for the month of June to virtually “walk across the world,” raising awareness for the foundation. Across all challenge participants, we took 184,034,456 steps and raised over $31,000 to provide clean drinking water filtration systems for schools in need.
- Care Kit Build — November 2024
This fall, R.L. Deppmann employees assembled winter care kits for those experiencing homelessness in the communities where we live and work. Kits included items such as socks, gloves, toiletry kits, and more. In total 144 kits were assembled and distributed across four shelters in our Michigan and Northern Ohio territories. These organizations include Community Housing Network, Family Promise of West Michigan, Mustard Seed Shelter, and A Place 4 Me.
- Xylem Watermark Walk for Water Challenge — Summer 2023
Xylem, the parent company of Bell & Gossett, hosted a competition called Walk for Water to help those in need of clean water. R. L. Deppmann had three teams three teams of ten employee volunteers signed up who had their daily steps measured for this contest that ran June 1 through June 30, 2023. As part of this charitable event, we donated $25.00 per person to the Chris Long Foundation, Waterboys. This donation was matched by the Watermark Initiative.
Throughout the month of October 2023, R.L. Deppmann partnered with Xylem Watermark and the Wine-to-Water Foundation to assemble water filters for families globally who battle daily with contaminated drinking water. Over fifty R.L. Deppmann team members volunteered to make a difference, assembling a total of 75 water filters for families globally who battle with contaminated drinking water.
- Xylem Watermark Walk for Water Challenge — Summer 2022
The second annual Xylem Watermark Walk for Water Challenge raised money for schools in the United States who do not have access to clean, safe drinking water within their schools. R.L. Deppmann employees participated in the challenge that ran from July 1st – July 31st, hosted virtually through an app named Pacer for Teams. Teams of 10 virtually “walked across the world” by tracking steps on a fitness tracker, phone, or by manually entering them into the app . We donated $25.00 per person to the Chris Long Foundation, Waterboys, which the Watermark Initiative matched.
- Deppmann Volunteers to Improve Groundwater Supply — September 2021
In support of the Xylem Watermark Program, the R.L. Deppmann team volunteered to clean up and remove invasive plant species from one of Ann Arbor, Michigan’s 62 rain gardens, which serve a critical role in minimizing pollution in the watershed.
- Covid-19 First Responder Charity Donation — May 2020
During the mandatory Stay Home, Stay Safe (Michigan) and Stay at Home (Ohio) executive orders, the Deppmann team quarantined at home like many Americans. Despite working remotely, the Deppmann team came together raise awareness and funds for two meaningful charities chosen through the Xylem Watermark program. Together the employees of R.L. Deppmann walked, ran and biked a total of 1,051.60 miles. For every mile completed, Deppmann donated $1.00 to the selected charities, which was then matched by Xylem Watermark for a total donation amount of $2,103.20.
The R.L. Deppmann team assembled and provided 600 face shield PPE kits, providing support for hospitals and health providers in the communities where we live and work. Through our partnership with Xylem Watermark, R.L. Deppmann was able to provide PPE to front line workers across six heath care systems within Michigan and Ohio.
