R.L. Deppmann Employees Donate 144 Winter Care Kits to Those in Need

From November 18 through November 21, 2024, R.L. Deppmann employees took part in a winter care kit build. In total, 144 kits were assembled and distributed across four shelters in our Michigan and Northern Ohio territories. This activity was part of the Deppmann Cares Initiative — R.L. Deppmann’s year-round community engagement program designed to give back in the communities where we live and work.

 

 

 

Each bag donated contained the following:
  • Socks
  • Gloves
  • Toothbrush/Toothpaste/Comb Set
  • Lip Balm
  • Deodorant
  • Handwritten Note

Novi

Community Housing Network — Troy, MI

Community Housing Network, Inc. (CHN) is a Southeast Michigan nonprofit dedicated to connecting individuals facing homelessness, financial hardship, or disabilities with housing resources. CHN develops affordable housing and offers services like eviction prevention, housing education, rapid re-housing, and street outreach, ensuring vulnerable residents have access to stable, supportive living environments.

Grand Rapids

Family Promise of West Michigan — Grand Rapids, MI

Family Promise is dedicated to addressing family homelessness with a focus on the well-being of children. Their efforts aim to ensure no child experiences the uncertainty of hunger or homelessness, allowing kids to enjoy their childhood without fear. By partnering with faith-based and community organizations, Family Promise provides emergency shelter, essential resources, and programs designed to help families secure housing and achieve lasting independence, creating brighter futures for current and future generations.

Saginaw

Mustard Seed Shelter — Saginaw, MI

In Saginaw County, approximately 350 people face homelessness each night, many of them single women with young children. Mustard Seed Shelter provides these women with temporary refuge, offering basic necessities like a clean bed, warm meals, showers, and emotional support while helping them rebuild their lives. Guests receive connections to medical care, mental health services, substance use treatment, education, job resources, and housing programs. The shelter’s mission is to offer love, compassion, and guidance to women in need, fostering self-sufficiency while creating a stable, nurturing environment for their children to help break the cycle of poverty.

A Place 4 Me — Cleveland, OH

A Place 4 Me Collaborative is a nonprofit focused on ending youth homelessness in Cuyahoga County. It provides direct services to support young people facing housing instability, empowers those with lived experience to guide its work, and advocates for systemic changes to improve resources and outcomes for vulnerable youth.
