This summer, R.L. Deppmann employees participated in a Backpack Build sponsored by AERCO for the second year in a row, assembling essential school supplies for students in need. In total, 240 backpacks were prepared for donation across our four offices — double the amount we put together last year.
Why It Matters
Through the Deppmann Cares Initiative, R.L. Deppmann employees volunteer their time and energy to make a meaningful impact in the communities where we live and work. With the rising cost of school supplies, this backpack build aimed to ease the financial burden on families while giving local students the tools, confidence, and preparation they need to succeed in the classroom.
Delivering the Donations
Working as a team, R.L. Deppmann distributed these backpacks to a total of five schools located near each of our four office locations: Detroit, Grand Rapids, Saginaw, and Cleveland. The schools our team donated to include:
- Harms Elementary School — Detroit, MI
- Bennett Elementary School — Detroit, MI
- Cesar E Chavez Elementary School — Grand Rapids, MI
- Kempton Elementary School — Saginaw, MI
- Marion-Sterling Elementary School — Cleveland, OH
These donations were appreciated by school officials and will allow students the tools they need to begin the school year. By making a positive impact on families preparing for the upcoming school year, this initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work.
