The Covid-19 global pandemic brought about a sharp rise in need for health care and medical equipment across the world. Due to the fast moving nature of the virus, front line health care workers and first responders were met with a devastating shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). Xylem’s corporate responsibility program, Xylem Watermark, answered the call for PPE by utilizing Xylem’s internal manufacturing capabilities including 3-D printing and injection molding. Pledging to donate 100,000 face shields to healthcare facilities and to utilities with water operators working to keep essential services flowing, Xylem looked to a number of partner organizations to help.
The R.L. Deppmann team assembled and provided 600 face shield PPE kits, providing support for hospitals and health providers in the communities where we live and work. Through our partnership with Xylem Watermark, R.L. Deppmann was able to provide PPE to front line workers across six heath care systems within Michigan and Ohio.
