This July, R.L. Deppmann employees and their families came together for a Backpack Build sponsored by AERCO, assembling essential school supplies for students in need. In total, 120 backpacks were prepared for donation to two school districts near Deppmann’s offices: Grand Rapids Public Schools and Detroit Public Schools.
Why It Matters
Through the Deppmann Cares Initiative, R.L. Deppmann employees volunteer their time and energy to make a meaningful impact in the communities where we live and work. With the rising cost of school supplies, this backpack build aimed to ease the financial burden on families while giving local students the tools, confidence, and preparation they need to succeed in the classroom.
Delivering the Donations
The R.L. Deppmann team delivered backpacks to Bennett Elementary in Detroit and Dickinson Elementary in Grand Rapids. School officials welcomed the donations and noted the positive impact they will have on families preparing for the new school year. By helping to ensure that every student begins with the tools they need, this initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work.
