The second annual Walk for Water Challenge, in partnership with the Waterboys Foundation, raised money for schools in the United States who do not have access to clean, safe drinking water within their schools.
R.L. Deppmann employees participated in the challenge that ran from July 1st – July 31st, hosted virtually through an app named Pacer for Teams. Teams of 10 virtually “walked across the world” by tracking steps on a fitness tracker, phone, or by manually entering them into the app. Besides raising awareness and funds, this challenge also showed that big objectives can be met relatively easily when approached as a team.
Here is what Xylem said about the Walk for Water 2022 challenge:
Proceeds benefit the Chris Long Foundation Waterboys, which is dedicated to bringing clean water to one million people globally. With the money raised, we supported the installation of water bottle filtration systems at multiple schools. Schools will no longer have to buy bottled water.
