Problem Identified
The Indiana State Museum & IMAX Theatre was faced with the following water quality challenges across their closed loop and domestic water systems:
- Corrosion in a 9,000 gallon closed loop hot water system
- Black, dirty water caused by elevated dissolved oxygen levels of 4 ppm
- Scale build-up in domestic water heaters, ice machines, and kitchen steamers
The corrosion in the closed loop system was accelerating equipment wear, and the scale formation in domestic equipment increased maintenance and operational concerns.
Solution & Results
To address both corrosion and scale build-up without increasing chemical usage, the State of Indiana implemented multiple EasyWater treatment systems, including:
- Series C Closed Loop Treatment System for the 9,000 gallon closed loop hot water system
- No-Salt Conditioners for domestic water
- SimplySoft water softener for their dish machine
- RevitaLife Pro Reverse Osmosis System for their kitchen steamer and ice machine
Within one month, Indiana State Museum achieved:
- Dissolved oxygen levels dropped from 4 ppm to less than 1 ppm
- Closed loop water clarity significantly improved
- Corrosion activity was stabilized
Domestic water equipment, including water heaters, ice machines, and steamers, remained clean after installation of the EasyWater equipment.
EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner
Scale build-up leads to:
- Continued repairs or replacement
- Increased energy costs
- Reduced water flow
- Equipment downtime
EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner is a maintenance-free solution to prevent scale build-up from forming and reduce existing scale build-up without the need for salt or chemicals.
EasyWater Series C Closed Loop Treatment System
The 3 Major Problems in Closed Loops:
- Corrosion caused by dissolved oxygen
- Sediment and sub-micron metal particles in the water
- Insulating high iron content, limescale, and biofilm deposits
EasyWater Series C Closed Loop Treatment System provides a cost effective, low-maintenance, non-chemical treatment for controlling corrosion and scaling.
Progress Since Treatment
Indiana State Museum was able to:
- Stabilize closed loop performance
- Protect domestic water equipment
- Reduce scale and corrosion risk
- Improve long-term system reliability
Encouraged by the results, the State of Indiana expanded EasyWater installations to additional facilities, including the Indiana Government Center and Capitol Building.
