AHRI Standard 400
AHRI stands for Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute. You’re probably familiar with AHRI testing and certification in chillers, towers, and air handling systems. The AHRI liquid-to-liquid heat exchanger (LLHE) certification based on AHRI standard 400 provides the peace of mind that the equipment you specify—and your client pays for—will do what you scheduled! ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Standards and Free Cooling Opportunities
ASHRAE 90.1 section 6.5.1 provides standards on the use of plate heat exchangers as waterside economizers, which we often refer to as “free cooling heat exchangers.”
