In Michigan and Ohio, both electric and gas utilities are offering rebates for building HVAC equipment efficiency upgrades as well as existing equipment to improve efficiencies. R.L. If your equipment is consuming electricity or gas in order to operate, there is likely a rebate available for improving efficiency or upgrading to new technologies. Common equipment that is targeted for rebates would be:
- Variable Speed Drives
- High-Efficiency Motors
- High-Efficiency Pumps including the recent addition of ECM pumps
- High-Efficiency Boiler and Water Heater and controls
For steam systems, look for rebates to replace or upgrade steam traps as well as steam monitoring systems. If your efficiency upgrade involves other equipment or a complete system upgrade, you can apply for a custom rebate to help offset the cost.
